Gothic Playable Teaseris the trial version of the role-playing game, Gothic. This playable teaser allows fans to test the remake developed by THQ Nordic. The remake follows the same mechanics as the first Gothic game; it is an action-packed single-player fantasy RPG. The game is set in the fictional kingdom of Myrtana. Its king, King Rhobar II, needs a massive supply of magical ore. This will be used to forge powerful weapons against the orcs that invade Myrtana. Your job is to set prisoners of the Sleeper’s temple free.

Well-crafted open world
Gothic is unlike other role-playing games, as it doesn’t limit your capabilities and gameplay to the landscape. Instead, it puts you into society. This allows you to interact with the world through the history and culture of your character. Your character’s history will depend on which society or camp you join in. The Old colony wants to trade ore with the king, the New colony refuses to give up the ore they mine, and the Brotherhood of Sleepers wants to escape from the colony.
You will explore the game through the eyes of your character. This will dictate how you will interact with the other colonies. The premise of Gothic is that humans are at war with the orcs. But rather than assign you a long-drawn history and clear goals, you get to dictate how you will achieve peace in Myrtana.
Your journey begins in the first chapter where you are introduced as a helpless newcomer. You will not be asked to farm points or please individuals. You must earn the trust, appreciation, and compensation of the villagers that matter to you the most. You can turn down tasks or avoid villagers you do not like. This true-to-life approach offers more rewarding gameplay than advancing through ranks and ticking boxes.
Dynamic gameplay
Gothic presents an open and unforgiving world. To survive the war, you must train in your camp and earn your weapons. It will be challenging to start quests without weapons, items, and abilities. But, you must muscle through it as the potential rewards will be great; you can end quests with a rare sword, magical armor, healing potions and—of course—gold. It also helps that the game showcases an impressive terrain. You can charge through deserts, duel in abandoned monasteries, and even delve in dark dungeons and caves.
